This cat below was one of a double taken within 70 yards of each other, and this was a trail set placed under the bottom strand of barbed wire on this fence. Several nights before, a skunk was caught here, and I did not replace the trap if I remember correctly. The right eye of this older cat is milky from some previous wound, and the cat weighed around 25 pounds. The location was picked because I spotted the trail under the fence, and as usual, bits of fur were found in the barbs.

This is the second cat of the double, and this area was down along a rocky creek bottom with open grassy hillside on one side of the creek, and the fence and wooded hillside on the other.

This is my occasional partner Jim Rhodes with another view of the small female from Pocahantas County, note the location at the cliff base.

Cats on the pole!

This tom weighed 27 pounds, the largest cat I have ever taken.
