Finding Peace in the Valleys
At Mass this morning, Father Connor spoke of the tremendous love Jesus has for every one of us. It came to me as I listened that there is no calamity that can come to us here as long as we love Jesus Christ with all our hearts, as there is nothing on this earth worthy of our attention beyond following Him to life with His Father for all eternity.
The valleys of life can be hard sometimes, lonely, troublesome and very painful. I have walked through some of those times lately, hurting in ways that I hadn't known before.
I am grateful for the reminder that next to an eternity with our Lord, these short days are nothing at all, just a brief interlude. Thanks be to God, Father Gerry reminded me once again to bear my cross knowing that one day all will be forgotten except the joy of knowing Jesus Christ and praising Him for all eternity!
