Feeling Faithful
Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you stood your ground in a great contest in the face of suffering. Sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult and persecution; at other times you stood side by side with those who were so treated. You sympathized with those in prison and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property, because you knew that you yourselves had better and lasting possessions. So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. Hebrews 10:32-35 NIV
I have to tell you all, this hit me in kind of a strange way. The "sometimes you were publicly exposed to insult" reminds me of all the times myself and my cronies would chuckle and laugh at the "Jesus Freaks" that were unafraid and unashamed of their beliefs. And, I must confess, part of me still worries about being seen in that light, based on my old behaviors towards people of faith.
I ask the Holy Spirit to enter into me and make me a vessel of His perfect love, that I might be His servant and carry the message of God's love for us all. Help me to walk unafraid with my light showing and my love available to all who seek communion with Him!
