Christian Thoughts and Meditations

Conservative journal of Christian thoughts and reflections in the midst of a corrupt age.

I am first and foremost, a Christian, a husband, a minister of the Gospel of Christ, and it just so happens that I am also an Alaskan Registered Guide. I am by most standards a radical right wing conservative Republican, and in my opinion, it would be difficult to have any other view if one is actually Christian.

A correction of sorts

So I am in Mass this morning and the reading is Hebrews 11...and I realize that the quote I attributed to St. Thomas is really from Hebrews 11...Oh well, Tony is the expert, I am merely the novice. A good lesson in humility for yours truly.

John 3

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
19This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
20Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
21But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.

I know so little of the bible and it's teachings, but who in our society has not heard of this passage? The promise that God loves us so much He sent His son to redeem us, the message that our good acts are acts that are done through God, and the warning that through evil we come to darkness...all speak to me of the need to come out into the light of His love.
