Illogical Conclusions of sin

As I have struggled over time to accept the grace of His love, I have continued to be tempted by (and to sometimes fall into) sin. Sometimes these sins are unintentional, yet many times, inspite of prayer for relief, they are conscious choices (free will I suppose). I am not much of a christian in many ways. I have asked for help from God in this, asked Him for a renewed and greater faith, yet it seems to come slowly, if at all.

So, from a purely personal place, it seems to me that just asking for His grace is not enough, there is more to it than that. I have no idea what "it" is that I am missing, yet I sense an inner lack.
