No Compromise on abortionist...

After having the subject come up tonight among family members I have been researching Bush and Kerry's political positions on the abortion issue. While I am a registered Republican, I am first and foremost a Christian. I should also say I am a Christian that believes that we must, as Saint Paul declares "...all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men...," With this in mind I pray that I do not commit terrible sins of ignorance, or stubbornness, because I have some kind of loyalty to a political idea, or philosophy. I pray that I do not cast my lot in with men that support the murder of the innocents of this nation, and the world, even the most innocent of all, the unborn.

It's funny, but I had not even heard about any of this, but I have been in Alaska for a while. I am referring to the Associated Press article from April 23, 2004 on John Kerry, his strong support for abortion, and his ignoring of the Roman Church's position on the sacred value of life. That Friday Kerry said that a woman's right to abortion is a major part of his campaign for president, "More than 30 years after Roe vs. Wade became the law of the land, it has never been more at risk than it is today," Kerry said. "We are going to have a change in leadership in this country to protect the right of choice."

Thus it is clear that he thinks the abominable Roe vs. Wade decision that first legalized the butchering of the unborn in this country is a decision that needs protecting, obviously at the expense of all those poor scientific blobs that exist in the wombs of inconvenienced women.

Earlier that Friday, Cardinal Francis Arinze, the top Vatican cardinal in charge of the sacraments, would not comment on whether it was appropriate to give Communion to Kerry, who is Catholic. When asked in general about "unambiguously pro-abortion" Catholic politicians, Arinze said such a politician "is not fit" to receive Communion. "If they should not receive, then they should not be given," he said.

Senator Kerry's spokesman David Wade would not respond directly to Arinze, but he reiterated Kerry's position on the separation of church and state that "helped make religious affiliation a nonissue in American politics."

How do you like that? Kerry's position on the separation of Church and state is that your religion is a non-issue!

What gall! What moronic babbling comes from this wretched brook of corrupted waters!!! My Christianity cannot be separated from my political views, or decisions, any more than my bleeding heart can be ripped out of my chest, and I continue to live. This is in my opinion one of the greatest evils of liberals in this day and age, and one of the deepest deceptions; that your political views should not be shaped by your commitment to Jesus Christ. What absolute garbage!

The rally where Kerry made these statements was scheduled to compare his stand on abortion with what he says are Bush's extreme anti-abortion positions. The Planned Parenthood Action Fund endorsed Kerry on Friday, citing his support for abortion rights. Planned Parenthood's political arm, which has never before endorsed a presidential candidate, said it will focus on bringing single women to the polls in November.

Well at least we can say that Planned Parenthood has finally found a figure head they approve of to promote abortions worldwide as they are so lovingly prone to do!

Judy Brown, president of the anti-abortion American Life League, said the cardinal's comments "should reinforce for the bishops that they must enforce canon law" by denying Communion to public figures who advocate abortion. She estimated that more than 500 politicians at the state and national level fall into that category.

"My impression is that the vast majority of bishops do not enforce the law," Brown said.

Kerry's position of being personally opposed to abortion but supporting abortion rights is hypocritical, Brown said. "There is no such thing in the Catholic Church as personal morality. There's only right and wrong," she said.

Frances Kissling, president of Catholics for a Free Choice, USA, said statements such as Arinze's "debase the political campaign" and would isolate the church from its Americans members, most of whom she said support abortion rights.

"Do they really want to tell Senators Kennedy, Mikulski, Leahy and 70 other members of the U.S. Congress that they can't receive Communion?" Kissling asked. "Because they can't just tell this to Senator Kerry."

So many people claim the name of Christ, and betray him with a kiss. Of course they should tell it to every American Catholic, If you think murder of the unborn is okay, then do not approach the Communion table of our Lord Jesus Christ. What kind of bizarre stupidity have these people descended into when Saint Paul makes it quite clear that we should all examine our lives very carefully before we approach the Body and the Blood of Jesus, lest we drink judgment on our own lives. I dare not approach the Table of the Lord with un-confessed sin, neither do I approach believing it is okay to lie, to commit adultery, or to murder, especially the unborn! God forgive us miserable sinners!

Kerry has said he would nominate only Supreme Court justices who support his position. Bush approves of abortion only in cases of rape or incest or when the pregnancy endangers a woman's life.

Bush recently signed two pieces of legislation that have alarmed abortion rights advocates. The first bans the procedure that critics describe as partial-birth abortion; the second established new protections for the unborn by making it a separate crime to harm a fetus during an assault on the mother-to-be.

Last week, Kerry met with Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, the Washington archbishop heading a task force examining whether there should be church sanctions for Catholic politicians who support abortion rights. The seven-member task force, created last year by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, is studying what steps to take against Catholic politicians who vote and support positions at odds with church teachings.

Among the options are denying access to Catholic schools or hospitals that might be venues for campaign events to excommunication, but McCarrick made it clear that he does not favor the latter choice.

The poor American Cardinal McCarrick embarrasses me by saying he doesn't favor excommunication for politicians supporting abortions, and he makes me weep for the Church, both Catholic and non-Catholic, since I am well aware of the facts that millions of Christians think it is perfectly fine to murder the unborn if it is convenient.
