"And He shall baptize thee with the Holy Spirit and with fire."

Darlene and I had the pleasure this afternoon of some friends calling on us to come over to their house and lay hands on a sister who desired the baptism into the Holy Spirit. I know some readers will certainly scoff at that idea, but the fact is, the baptism into the Spirit, accompanied by the manifestation of glossalalia, more commonly know as speaking in tongues, made an extreme impact on the early Church, on my life as a believer, and is still impacting new lives every day. So let them scoff! The dear sister had struggled for a number of years with misconceptions about herself, and her ability to receive such a grace, but she received easily after we laid hands on her and prayed. It is always a glorious experience for me, as I know what it can mean in the life of any given individual, and it was certainly more than she had imagined.

I am always impressed by the Word of God working in the lives of individuals, and such supernatural manifestations never cease to amaze me, even though it is simply God confirming His word with signs following, even as it is written.
