I get amazed, and saddened by people on drugs that think that everyone else is so stupid that they don't realize that this person is on drugs. I've seen people in my own family make drug deals while I have been in their home, and yet they were so wrapped up in illusions as to think I thought something else was taking place. The facts are I was once very much an abuser of drugs myself, so it is usually quite obvious to me when others are stoned out of their minds. It is a sad epidemic that I see all around me, not that teen-agers are experimenting with drugs, which is obviously sad, but most of the people I know that are not claiming to be Christian are actually either addicted to one drug or the other, or they are trafficking in them. It seems that in this area of rural Appalachia it is a very much sought after career, learning how to sell oxycontin, and other narcotics without making a profit. This is the insane part of it, at least in one sense, since few individuals ever make any money at it. I see people in my own family without vehicles, without jobs, and living with DUI's and suspended driver's licenses, and yet they think they are getting ahead of everyone else buy selling hardcore narcotics. Then there is all the justification! I once heard a family member tell my wife that they just couldn't make it without selling the drugs, and of course I wondered whatever happened to working for a living, or college, which the government always seems willing to pay for, at least for the individuals I know that applied for the grants, and spent the money on more drugs.
